Happy Easter!

Easter Bunny

All week long, the Easter Bunny has been standing outside the Esther Price Candy Store in Centerville and I wave to her every time I pass by.  I’ve actually popped into the store twice to purchase some gifts, as well as to get my chocolate fix!  You see, there’s always a box of sample chocolates that sits out on the counter and I must confess that every time I pass by it, I take a sample. Or two…. or three….

Several times….

I know no restraint when it comes to yummy, rich, creamy chocolates from Esther!

nuts-and-chews

In addition to the cream filled eggs and chocolate bunnies that I bought as gifts, I just had to buy a box of “turtles” to stash in my favorite hiding place at home. These are my all-time favorite candies and at $14.95 a box, I guard them with my life!  I only dole them out to people who appreciate them as much as I do.

After all, this is not your everyday, ordinary, run of the mill chocolate. Now, I realize that everyone has their own regional chocolate favorites. I’ve tried See’s, Godiva,  Betty Jane’s, and Senor Murphy’s- but for me- nothing compares to Esther’s rich, creamy flavor.  What is your favorite brand?

Gotta run-  I think I hear a giant chocolate bunny calling my name…..

Sue, do you start by biting the ears, like I do? There is a brand in the NYC area called Madeleine's (sp?) that I love. Their foiled covered eggs are addictive. Happy Easter xo,

Happy Easter to you to Ethel.
I have made my own turtles before. Yummy, but I would rather buy them from a shop.
There is a new chocolate/sandwich shop opening up in our little town. Weird combination and in a crappy location. We will see how that goes. To bad she has missed Easter weekend.

Harry London and Ben Heggy were regional favorites, although we did get some Esther Price also. My favorite Easter treat was one of the big nougat eggs covered in chocolate with my name written on the top. Now, of course, my love has switched to Cadbury eggs!

Oh Sue,
I was having my own little Easter memories on my blog today & then I come here & you mention chocolate turtles...as a child whenever we went to See's Candy, I would get a chocolate turtle, my absolute favoritest candy of all. I had forgotten that for a minute & here you are to remind me. That's what wonderful friends are for...yummmmy!!! Thank you for such SWEET memories & have the Happiest Easter Sweetie!!!
Hugs,
Susie

Happy Easter, Sue!
My favorite brand is Florence's. You can get it online, but their main store is in my old hometown. WAY better than See's or Godiva.

I like all the brands of chocolate, I'm not picky at all!

See that's the problem for me...my kids get all this chocolate for Easter and then for weeks I hear it calling my name...which is bad enough...but what's worse is I continue to answer. I found you over at "At the Picket Fence". I am your latest follower. Any friend of Vanessa and Heather's is a friend of mine. If you get a chance, hope you drop by my blog. Thanks.

Just came over here from The Picket Fence. You love chocolate, I love chocolate-you sound like my kinda gal! Our local favorite is Seeroogy's-a family run business and they are THE BEST!..Trust me! What do you mean yours is better? I will arm-wrestle you for the remainder of bunnies you have in your box! What? All gone huh? Seriously!!!!

Well, here I am and you are stuck with me now-following along and dogging your every word (when I can). I can't believe you actually met Rie Drummond! Lucky girl! Hugs-Diana

I like the locally made chocolates and fudge at the Alaskan Fudge Company. The person in the bunny suit makes me think of the last scene in Steel Magnolias!

Your blog is very nice! Come by and visit my blog if you like!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter. I love your new cow, cute. I was delighted when I found my silver butter dish with a small cow on the top handle.
