Quick update on Mr. Sullivan

Hi everyone. I finally had a minute to get online to post an update on Mr. S and what is going on with us. We had a rough week, getting acclimated to a rigid schedule of meds and eating. I am NOT a schedule type person- I fly by the seat of my pants, most days. Except when I have a deadline, then I am a completely different person. LOL
He has good days and bad days... Pain is always a constant- the infection is still in his leg; his incision is healing, and he is trying to get his blood sugar under control with diet and the addition of oral meds. The past few days, we have cut back on the insulin injections because he is on a sliding scale for his sugar levels. That is an accomplishment. I am administering the IV antibiotic through a catheter in his chest twice a day and I am chief cook, nurse, and bottle washer, as the old saying goes... It can get tiring, and I have trouble resting when he is. I was that way when our son Dan was a baby, too.
Anyway, I try to visit you on Reader when I can. Please forgive me if I don't always comment. I'm here and just want to keep up with what I can. Again, we truly appreciate the continuation of all your good thoughts and prayers for us. The sun is shining today and I hope my mood will reflect that soon....
lots of hugs to you all, Sue

Sue, I'm so sorry to hear what you have been going through. I'm thinking about you, and you need to remember to take care of yourself too, Nurse Sue! If you don't, you'll be no good to anyone. Take care!

Sue, lots and lots of hugs back to YOU. I hope you can manage to rest now and then ... the caregiver needs care, too -- I know that's easy to say, hard to do!

I'm glad Mr S is home -- but it does put te burden of care on you. I pray and hope for a full recovery for him, as quickly as possible...

Fingers crossed.
(Which makes it darned hard to type!)
Blessings... Cass
PS good to hear from you, and don't worry about commenting... have fun reading when you can!

I'm sorry to hear he's still having trouble with the infection itself. I know it's tough, especially if you've never dealt with anything like this before. I wish you had more help so you could refresh your own spirit a bit each day.
Hugs,
Dawn

We will see you when we see you Ethel. Number one take care of yourself or you won't be of any help to your hubby.

Sue,I truly believe that often the care taker has a more difficult time than the one being cared for! Don't forget to take care of you while you're taking care of him. Both of you remain in my prayers. laurie

You need to take care too. These sicknesses are hard, but try to take a small bit of time for yourself. It will make the caretaking easier.

Life can just change in an instant. Praying your hubby will have a speedy recovery, get the blood sugars leveled and life will be close to what it was before. God bless you both as you need to take care of yourself too!

Oh my, I came over from Sheilas blog and it sounds like you truly have your hands full. Make sure to take a few moments for you...it is hard in the midst of all this medical crisis but it's important...I think sometimes we all forget that. Take care.

Hi, lady! I'm just catching up after a little break. Thanks so much for the update. I keep checking in here to see how things are going. I know how challenging it is to take care of someone with lots of things going on. I'm keeping you both in my prayers.

Being social is the last thing you should worry about.

Just know that there are tons of us out here wanting to know how things are going and we in turn will send big hugs back with great thoughts that all will turn around very soon for your both.

Most sincerely... Claudia

Oh Sue! I've missed what's going on because of stupid computer problems. Mr S will be in my prayers, as well as you, and I'll put him on my prayer list!
We always do what we have to do, don't we? I know you are that way and you will be very determined in your loving care of him. I'll be praying that God gives you strength for these days you find yourself in!!

Love & BIG hugs, Sherry
