Beauty On Monterey Bay

 monterey gulls 2

The clear, blue waters of Monterey Bay, CA most certainly attracted this flock of gulls down onto it. We were walking along this section of rocky coast and watching the water splash against the rocks when we spotted them diving down onto the water, most likely in search of their lunch. This is one of the prettiest spots we visited on our trip a couple of years ago. If I close my eyes and draw from my memory, I can almost hear those birds calling out to one another…..

I’m linked to Claudia’s  first ever, new meme, Friday Finding Beauty, which gives us the opportunity to share something that we feel is beautiful to us.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so we’ll probably see a variety of different photos for this new party at Dipity Road. Claudia is an accomplished photographer, and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of beauty on her site.

Oh Sue sweetie...
What a breath taking view. I so love this picture of the ocean. Aren't the colors just devine? I can hear the seagulls calling to each other, and I can feel the sea mist on my face and hair. I can hear the waves rolling over the rocks. Oh thank you so much for sharing with me tonight, and bringing the ocean to my eyes, ears and nose. So beautiful Sue, so beautiful.

Now as for Ms Claudia. I have loved her since the first time I visited her blog many months ago. We started blogging about the same time, and she just melted my heart. She is just the cutest darn thing isn't she? I think we'll keep her hu?

Thanks again for sharing Sue. I so love it when you do. Country hugs and so much love, Sherry

Hi Sue!

Hope you're feeling better!! That photo is so beautiful and warm looking compared to our big blanket of snow across Ohio. But there's something so lovely about that pure white layer of sparkly fluff. I really love our change of seasons here - keeps the eye entertained with God's beauty!

Love & hugs,Sherry

When the weather gets us down it is nice to think of beautiful places we have been to and seen with our own eyes. It is beautiful here today but the snow starts to get to me by the end of January! ~Patti

Well, I've had such fun today with Friday - Finding Beauty. This is the second beach photo from California I've seen and as someone who spent close to 50 years of my life on the beaches there, I can attest to the beauty. Thanks for the memories you've brought me today. Our beaches here in Florida are going through an unusual cold spell and I needed some warm sun today!

Hi Sue,

I agree Monterery, Carmel and Pacific Grove are some of the most beautiful towns I've ever been to! We visit every year and are planning another trip in May. I was looking at my old posts from almost a year ago...just wanted to thank you ....you were the first person who posted a comment on my blog and now I'm hooked! Hope you are having a great New Year! Beautiful photo Sue. It sounds like a fun meme. I don't think I've been to that blog before but I will definately check it out.

Hubby thinks that "creature" got moved to the garage. He says it had been in one of the bedroom closets all these years but they moved it before I knew it was here so I wouldn't freak out!

Hope things are getting back to normal for you.
Hugs,
Dawn

This is, indeed, just beautiful. Thanks, Sue, for sharing this with us.
And, I'm with you...I will take rain over snow any time. As you said in a comment somewhere..snow is pretty while it is falling...then when it starts melting and gets all yucky, I don't like it anymore.

Hey there...just me...I LOVED that area so much. We spent a few days there back in the mid 90s and it was such a joy! One of the prettiest spots in the US.
I left a message on your phone for you last week and haven't been able to get back in touch...will try you again this week. Hope all is well??
Love,
Sue

About 5 years ago we went to Charleston, SC. It was the best vacation we've ever had, and coincided with our 25th anniversary. I can just look at our pictures, and I am right back there.

Sue, what a great picture. I have been blessed to have gotten to see different parts of the world so I know what you mean about closing your eyes and reliving some of those moments. A praline king cake is like a big cinnamon roll with pecans and creamcheese in the middle. Stay tuned I will do a post on king cake and the meaning behind a them soon. Now I am gonna check out your links to the other posts.

Hi Sweet Sue!

Ahhh......beautiful blue water......We don't live tooo far away from the ocean.......not usually a beautiful blue like that unless it's summertime. Gotta have some blue skies to reflect the color! So, that would make ours GREY! :-)

Big hugs,
Spencer

Sue, I wanted to come by and thank you for visiting my blog earlier. I went through several posts and read about what you have been going through with your husband. I hope he is getting better and stronger each day. I will remember you both in my prayers. I posted under this picture because my husband and I have been there before many years ago and I would love to go back one day. The California coast is just so beautiful and I will always remember that trip...Kim
