My Door of Welcome

Some  of you may have seen these pictures here,  but  since Karen is having a Doors of Welcome Party today, I thought I would re-post  a few of them. Stop by her blog to say hi and see how the season is being welcomed into the homes of others.

basket

You are greeted with color as you approach the entryway to our home. The metal dragonfly cloche holds natural material and a “planted” leaf ball. The basket on the door was fashioned out of  faux hydrangeas, mums, black-eyed Susans, grasses, and leaves.

To the side of the front door, I placed an old bench in the small garden area and created a simple vignette with pumpkins and a watering can filled with spider mums.

kale      IMG_2348_thumb7

Pansies and flowering kale add contrast to these mums, while three potted mums accent an old section of iron fencing.

grasses

Feathery grasses add height to a table in the foyer.

I hope you felt welcomed into our house this season! Don’t forget to visit Karen.

I have a question. How in the world is that basket hanging on the glass of the door?
This look very welcoming. Wish I were there.

Lori, I used a heavy duty suction hook~ you just moisten it and lock it down. It holds quite a bit of weight~ I use it for a heavy pinecone wreath during the holidays.

I have GOT to get some buckeyes before I leave Ohio. I had no idea what they were or what they looked like - I always wondered where they got the nickname for the "the Buckeyes" college team. Now I know. lol
Just wanted to stop by and say I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you today. I hate a great time!

Sue~ Lets chat first about those "Cockadoodle Dandy" Roosters!! You can tell just by looking at their faces, Hmmm, do Roosters have faces? How lovingly they stare into each others eyes.
They could be part love birds!
What a chuckle you'll get while drinking your morning coffee. What better way to start the day then with a big smile and a belly laugh compliments of your new fowl friends.

The fall decor so nice. My fave is the wire cloche, filled with the little touches of autumn. I'm going to try my hand at the Leaf Ball. I would like to use real leaves, I'll let you know how I do. I think you could possible use this for Christmas too.

Sweet wishes,
Sars
