Some Fine Feathered Friends…

Gina, from A Shabby Chic Cottage, is hosting today’s  party to show some of the birds and their nests that adorn our homes. Please stop by her lovely blog for a visit.

Two of my most favorite birds sit atop a painted chest in my shabby/beach guest bedroom. Some of you may remember these from this previous post.

Their sweet faces seem to just ask for your approval.

A bird’s nest in this cloche is filled with natural materials, speckled eggs, and of course, a mama bird.

Mama watches over her eggs with care.

Sitting on top of a glass topped wicker table in the guest room is this birdhouse decorated with dried flowers. Alongside of it is this vintage print.

This little sign was a gift from my new friend, Sherry when we met two weeks ago. It hangs from a knob on a painted chest in another guest room..

I purchased this hand-carved bird from a small shop outside Creede, Colorado while we were on vacation many years ago.

This bird on a stick finds his home tucked in a planter in my kitchen.  He looks as if he is getting ready to snatch his dinner!

birdhouse I nestled this house into a fork in the tree outside my dining room. It was one of my many thrifty finds last weekend.

I hope you have enjoyed a small sampling of some of the birds that inhabit the home of

Sullivan & Murphy.

Hi Sue. You have some sweet little birds. I do love the Nest sign especially because it's different from what anyone else included. :)

I think the white bird on the dresser is really saying "who Me?" I didn't know you had so many feathered friends. And not a rooster in sight.

Thanks for your help. The list was in Reader and while I was trying to figure hou how to transfer the list, it disappeared also!?!?! Toni @ The Tattered Cottage said she is having the same problem - sounds like something going on with Blogger. I sure hope they can recover my lists.

Hey Sue, you have so many sweet birds. The two on the dresser are precious. They do look very innocent. I also really like the vintage print.

I love birds, nests, twiggy things and stuff under glass.
I love birdhouses.
Imagine my (stupid Kel) surprise when I put some birdhouses in the garden and birds moved in...
In true Savant form also imagine the shrieking, high-step fleeing and near sharting that ensued when I came eye-to-eye with said evil bird.
I should clarify that I like bird decor, bird figurines, and bird prints.
Real birds scare stuff outta me.

Great collection, I love the bird sign and the Mother and babies. To answer your question about the little tree in my Grandsons room, yes I did paint it, I really didn't think it was all that great and didn't want to show it.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments.

Love your birdies, and I see you are gearing up for Marty's cloche party in Sept!
Off to check your bargains in the prev post!

You're right, in our area there are no teeter-totters, or merry-go-rounds, on playgrounds anymore. Too much liability I guess, or too much pressure form the "all in one" modern playground salesmen!

So many birdies to look at at Sue's house! I just love that birdhouse out in the tree. Can't have enough birdhouses scattered about.
