Three Little Pots

Once again it's Thrifty Monday where we can show off all of the treasures that we found during the week. Make sure you visit
Rhoda to see what goodies everyone has posted.

Yard and garage sales in the Dayton area typically start on Thursdays. So if you want the pick of the crop, you'd better be prepared to take the day off from work to hunt for bargains. However, this past Saturday, a neighborhood sale was held in an historic part of downtown Dayton. I was hoping for some architectural finds, since many residents are still re-habbing these 100 + year old homes.

While I never found what I went looking for, I made a single purchase from a lovely woman and her husband who had set up in their backyard and alley. I couldn't resist adding these items to my potting bench in my laundry room. They'll be my herb pots. I'm off to the nursery today to purchase some dill, cilantro, and basil. I thoroughly think that this $3.00 purchase was worth enduring sweltering heat and humidity for half a morning.

Three little pots rest on a tray.

A miniature watering can will help keep my plants growing.

A simple dragonfly adorns one pot and the watering can.

A butterfly adorns the other two pots.

Here is the set on top of my potting bench.

So Cute! I love them! I never find what I'm looking for. I find a deal on something I love, I buy it, and figure out what to do with it later! If it doesn't find a place in a reasonable amount of time it goes in my yard sale box. :o)

I just keep a list in my purse to remind me of things we're hoping to find...sometimes the things you aren't looking for turn out to be just what you needed after all.

Hi Sue, Thanks for visiting my blog! I enjoyed seeing your adorable little green flower pots too. Isn't junkin just so much fun?
I wanted to tell you that the plant lights were purchased at a home decor/gift shop in Kansas City, Ks. called My Favorite Things, Maybe they could send you some. As I said they had several different ones. Hope this helps. Have a great day. Linda

Great find!!! Totally worth the heat & humidity (I'd probably have thought differently if I was actually living in these conditions. lol). I love them on your potting bench & they will be even better once you had added the herbs. Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment.

That is really cute! And the little watering can!
Yard sales starting on Thursday would be heaven for me. My hubby and I actually do our grocery shopping on Sat. morning, so it's a push to make sure I'm home to go.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

How sweet those are, and I love the color too! Those three little ones would also look nice on a desk repurposed for pens and pencils and such. You know me...always thinking about stuff like that!

Really cute and worth far more than $3.00!

I saw your comment when another blogger had mentioned photo problems with Windows Live Writer. I love using WLW but the "help" pages are NOT much help at all. Have you got any thoughts on why some photos will enlarge when clicked on and others won't? Thanks. :)

Sue: thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes I saw your Cloche party and looked at every one. I have never made a cloche before and went out on Friday with one in mind and would you believe the very first garage sale had the glass top and cake plate and bird cage. I could not believe it. I loved all the ideas.

Hi Sue!

Great finds! and I LOVE your potting bench, how cool is that? I enjoyed your cloches too. A cloche can make anything look fabulous! The greenhouse cloche is great.

We are recovering from having our 2 & 3yr old granddaughters for 2 wks 24/7. Whew!! We're too old for that, but enjoyed them. Didn't get anything else done so we're trying to play catchup with outdoor work.

What day of the week is best for you to get
away for a visit to Urban Farmhouse?? Let me
know. We need to do our getaway!

Hugs, Sherry
